Lt Gen Carlo Gagiano, Chief of the South
African Air Force used the annual Air Force Day
Parade 2012 held at the AFB Swartkop on 27
January 2012 to communicate and acknowledge
performance of high standards at the
Directorates, Bases and units as well as the
Squadrons. Directorates, Units and Bases are
recognised based on their outstanding practice
in their organisational management, operating
more efficiently and reducing wastage as well as
maintaining SAAF operating standards. Lt Gen
Gagiano also used the parade to communicate and
convey its key message which is the “Sustainment
of Air Power Capability in Declining Budget.”
