APPOINTMENTS AND/OR PROMOTIONS OF LIEUTENANT GENERALS, ADMIRALS AND MAJOR GENERALS

Minister of Defence and Military Veterans, Ms Lindiwe Sisulu has pleasure in announcing the appointments and/or promotions of the under mentioned officers with effect from 01 October 2011 or with effect from the first day of the month following the date the officers reported to their new post, whichever date is the latest

  Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) D.M. Mgwebi appointed as Chief of Joint Operations.

  Major General (Maj Gen) V.R. Masondo appointed as Chief of the SA Army with promotion to the substantive rank of Lieutenant General.

  Lieutenant General C. Gagiano appointed as Chief of the SA Air Force 

  Vice Admiral (V Adm) J. Mudimu appointed as Chief of the SA Navy.

  Lieutenant General V.I. Ramlakan appointed as the Surgeon General of the SA Military Health Service.

  Lieutenant General AM. Shilubane appointed as Chief of Defence Intelligence.

  Major General T.M. Nkabinde appointed as Chief of Human Resources with promotion to the substantive rank of Lt Gen.

  Major General J.T. Nkonyane appointed as Chief of Logistics with promotion to the substantive rank of Lt Gen.

  Lieutenant General V.I. Ramlakan appointed as Chief of Corporate Staff designate.

  Brigadier General (Brig Gen) M.E. Phako appointed as Deputy Chief of Joint Operations with promotion to the substantive rank of Major General.

  Major General L. Rudman appointed as Deputy Chief of the SA Army.

  Major General G. Malinga appointed as Deputy Chief of the SA Air Force.

  Rear Admiral (R Adm) (Junior Grade) M.S. Hlongwane appointed as Deputy Chief of the SA Navy with promotion to the substantive rank of Rear Admiral.

  Brigadier General L.J. Smith appointed as Deputy Chief SA Military Health Service with promotion to the substantive rank of Major General.

  Major General J.M. Nyembe appointed as Deputy Chief of Defence Intelligence.

  Major General N.E. Memela-Motumi appointed as Deputy Chief of Human Resources.
