100 Days Countdown to the AAD 2018

Monday, 11 June 2018, a media launch was held at Air Force Base Waterkloof Officers Mess as part of the countdown activities to mark the lead up to the 10th edition of the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition, which will take place from 19 to 23 September at the Air Force Base Waterkloof in Pretoria.

The world-class spectacular showcase of biannual event is coordinated by the partnership between the Department of Defence (DOD), Armaments Corporation of South Africa (Armscor), Commercial Aviation Association of Southern Africa (CAASA), as well as the SA Aerospace Maritime and Defence Industry Association (AMD).

According to the Chief of the SA Air Force, Lt Gen Zimpande Msimang the 10th instalment of AAD will once again be a spectacular showcase of air, sea and land capability and it also coincides with the centenary celebration of Nelson Mandela's 100th birthday celebrations.

Lt Gen Msimang and the AAD partners highlighted a range of issues concerning the premier exhibition. They mentioned that South African Defence Industry Companies will also display their technology.

Some of the SA Air Force aircraft and various countries in the region, subcontinent and other parts of the world's largest aeroplanes will also dominate the AFB Waterkloof runways.
