SADC Defence Sub Committee meets

It has always been a tradition in the SANDF to honour and acknowledge deserving members, either those serving in the Reserve Force or Regular Force for their loyalty, devotion to duty and a job well done.

On 27 July 2012 the Chief of the SA Army, Lt Gen Vusi Masondo, hosted a medal parade in honour of men and women who had displayed exceptional capabilities in the SA Army and had distinguished themselves by providing excellent service for our country at the SA Army HQ in Pretoria.

Lt Gen Masondo expressed his gratitude and said that this event and the medals should serve as an encouragement to all of us in the SANDF to redouble our efforts and that we should know that hard work will never go unnoticed. “A Defence Force where the soldiers are cared for, promoted in due time, medals and awards awarded, is a Defence Force where the soldiers are motivated and always willing to walk the extra mile and work harder and smarter”, he said.
 

The following medals were awarded:

Bronze Service medal (MK), Good Service Medal (Bronze), African Union (AU) Medal, Tshumelo Ikatelaho with Peace Support Clasp, Unitas Medal and Medalje Vir Troue Diens 20 Jaar
