Freedom of the city of Johannesburg parade

The Freedom Regiments of the City of
Johannesburg will, in accordance with tradition,
exercise their right of freedom of entry on
Saturday 13 November 2010. 21 South African
Infantry Battalion (SAI Bn) and several Reserve
units together with elements of Services and
Divisions will participate in the parade. Yearly
these units exercise their right to freedom of
the city by marching through the city.
This event will take place at the Alexandra
Cricket Sport Fields, East Bank, Alexandra. The
main functionaries will be the Madame Speaker of
the Johannesburg Metro Council, Councillor Nkele
Ntingane, while Major General Louis Dlulane,
Chief of the South African Army Force Structure
will represent the SA Army.
This colourful military ceremony will include
a fly past by three Gripens with colour parties
of the unit and regiments which have been
accorded the status of the Freedom of the City
of Johannesburg.
The honourable Speaker will inspect and
address the parade. The marching columns will
exercise their right to freedom of the city by
marching through Alexandra. You are cordially

for 11:00 at Alexandra Cricket Sport Fields,
East Bank, Alexandra.
