STATEMENT BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE (SANDF): TANZANIAN PEOPLES DEFENCE FORCE (TPDF) WORKING VISIT TO THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE (SANDF) OVER THE PERIOD 16 TO 20 MARCH 2009

The Chief of the Reserve Force of the Tanzania People Defence Force (TPDF) and a senior delegate, Colonel A.Y. Amasi will visit his South African counterpart, the Chief of Defence Reserves Major General R. C. Andersen from 16 to 20 March 2009 to benchmark the SANDF Reserve Force System.

The official visit will cover amongst others, promoting the relationship between the SANDF and the TPDF, Command and Control in the SANDF and Management of Mobilisation and Demobilisation.

This visit forms part of the South African Military Strategy of promotion of Continental and Regional Peace, Security and stability, which is in line with the national strategy of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD).
