STATEMENT BY THE SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE (SANDF): SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL DEFENCE FORCE SPOUSES FORUM TO MEET WITH THE SPONSORS OF THE GOODWILL PARCEL PROJECT

On Friday 22 August 2008, the South African National Defence Force Spouses Forum will meet with the various sponsors of the Goodwill Parcel Project. This briefing is an opportunity for the sponsors to hear firsthand about this wonderful project.

The Goodwill Parcel Project forms part of the annual Goodwill Visit. This initiative was started in 2001 by the Chief of the South African National Defence Force with the aim of bringing festive cheer to SANDF soldiers deployed both internally and externally. The Goodwill Visit is also an opportunity for the senior leadership of the Department to once again re-affirm the appreciation South Africa has for the vital role played by our soldiers to help bring about peace on the continent.
