INVITATION TO ATTEND EXERCISE YOUNG EAGLE 2008

Date: Monday 17 November 2008

Exercise Young Eagle, the annual SA Army exercise aimed at training and exercising the SA Army’s Airborne and Air Assault forces to enhance airborne capability and combat readiness, is being conducted at the De Brug training area in Bloemfontein.

The Exercise Young Eagle Open Day will be held on Thursday 20 November 2008 in Bloemfontein. The troops participating in the exercise includes members of the Military Skills Development System.

The Open Day will consist of briefings, static displays/exhibitions, an airborne and air assault demonstration, and will be concluded with a media conference hosted by the Chief of the SA Army, Lieutenant General Solly Shoke.

You are cordially invited to send a reporter and photographer/cameraperson to attend the Exercise Young Eagle Open Day on Thursday 20 November 2008 in Bloemfontein.

Please note that there is limited space available on the aircraft. Kindly provide the full names, surnames and identity numbers of the journalist/s and/or photographer/cameraperson/s attending by Tuesday 18 November 2008 at 12:00.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS :

• Report at Air Force Base Swartkop at 06:00 on Thursday 20 November 2008.
• Depart Air Force Base Swartkop at 07:00.
• Arrive at Air Force Base Bloemspruit at approximately 09:00.
• Depart from Air Force Base Bloemspruit at approximately 15:00.
