The general public will once again have the opportunity to interact with the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). This will take place during an exhibition, presented at Tshwane International show from the 24 August-04 September 2005. This has been regarded as one of the important events on the calendar of the Department of Defence (DOD). The achievement by the South African National Defence in 2003, when a gold award was won for the best Government and semi-Government exhibitions stand, underlines the significance of this demonstration.

The SANDF exhibition will be focusing on foreign deployments mainly concentrating on the role of the DOD/SANDF in Peacekeeping missions in Africa, and how that contributes to the Nepad initiative. The department will also communicate successes and achievements on service delivery to the community and its contribution to Batho Pele.

The show will create an opportunity to the public to have access to the relevant information and to be informed of related issues about the Department. The Minister of Defence, Mr Mosiuoa will also get the opportunity to personally interact with the public within the Imbizo context.
